The SOS button
- Hold the red button for 3 seconds (also on the car screen).
- Movoo first offers to call 112.
- After 10 seconds, which you can cancel, your loved ones are alerted with your location.
- All fine? “I'm OK” ends the alert.
Safety
Movoo does not replace the emergency services: in an emergency, call 112.
What Movoo does when things go wrong, and what it doesn't. Everything is in the Android app.
Up to 5 people: Movoo members, who get a notification; email addresses, which receive an email once the person has agreed to be your contact; phone numbers, with an SMS or WhatsApp message ready to send in one tap.
If you wish, be notified when a member needs help near you (5, 10 or 20 km). Your exact position is never shared, and the person in trouble's position is only revealed to you if you answer “I'm going”.
The alert waits for the network to come back and sends itself. Meanwhile, Movoo passes it over Bluetooth to the phones of your group members nearby; it hops from phone to phone until it reaches someone with a signal, always encrypted, readable only by group members.
A “Need help?” button sends your position to your group, which is notified first.
The exact position of an alert is encrypted, then erased when the alert ends. Volunteers only see it if they answer “I'm going”.
Movoo is in beta, and it's being built with you: one developer, and your feedback. Test it on your roads, tell us what's wrong, and help decide what comes next.
